Plan
The main topic of this visual-based project is the change of the nature. In this memoir, I am trying to highlight some of the characteristics of nature at Emory that I found interesting and new when I first came here to show the change of the nature I experience from home to Emory. These changes of experience of nature includes the color change of the leaves in the fall, the running squirrels that can be easily found, the strong sun in the summer, the much less polluted rain, and so on. This new nature, in a way, has changed my perception of the nature as well as my lifestyle.
The format of this project will be a photo essay, meaning that there will not be a linguistically written essay. Using a set of pictures taken by myself, I will convey my argument and ideas to the audience implicitly. Moreover, one or two short video may be taken and included in the project so that the project will look more vibrant and lively. However, a separate about-a-thousand-word rhetorical analysis will be written accompanying the photo essay to explain what I really want to say through the series of the pictures and some videos since different people may have different versions interpretation of the same images.
In addition, the series of pictures will be finally made in the form of a video. However, there will be no words spoken in the video but there may be light music playing in the background. By juxtaposing pictures and arranging them in different patterns, I think I can not only make the video more attractive but also easier for the audience to understand the relationships among the pictures.
